Office Space Moment
Well, Bob’s my uncle in 2 leagues (i.e. I’m done). Team 1 and Team 3 are out of playoff contention after losses. Team 2 is in but struggling to score point totals seen earlier in the year. Team 4 is one loss away from being out as well.  Therefore, I will only focus on my rosters with a playoff chance from here on out.

Team 2 Roster of 12 team PPR league (8-4)
QB: Schaub, V. Young - Schaub for now
RB: Bush, Parker, A. Hall - Bush and Parker are due!
WR: Wayne, R. Williams, Welker(flex), Coles, Evans – Go Welker!
TE: Witten – Witten has already gotten his 12!
K: , Gostkowski, J. Brown – NE is playing BAL!
DST: Chicago, Arizona – Giants are turnover machine!
(No moves so far this week!)

Team 4 Roster of 10 team, 2nd year league (6-6)
QB: V. Young, McNabb – McNabb is out!
RB: Gore, Parker, A. Hall, D. Williams - Hoping Gore is back!
WR: Wayne, R. Williams, S. Moss (flex), Stallworth, Branch, Evans - Rolling the dice with Moss!
TE: LJ Smith – LJ is only option
K: Jeff Reed – Only K!
DST: San Diego,  – Only D!
(No moves so far this week)

Cowboy HelmetEveryone seems to think this will be an NFC Championship Preview and are writing about it as so.  I don’t think it will be that great of a game.  I think Dallas wins and covers the 7 point margin easily tonight.  To me, Green Bay has been a smoke and mirrors team all year.  I think they get exposed tonight.  And remember, I’m supposed to be a Cowboy Hater!

I would play all of your offensive players tonight save for Ryan Grant.  I think the Cowboys will throw first to set up the run later.  The Pack should be behind all night and Favre may throw for a ton of yards but he will only get a couple of TDs.  Thus, the Cowboy defense should be a safe start but the GB defense should stay on your bench.

Survivor Last week I gave you 4 out of 5 winners and my warning turned out to be dead right.  This week the obvious choices again are New England and Pittsburgh.  If you can only pick a team once per season and need to reach you could go with St. Louis or even Miami.

Warning of the Week: There are plenty of tenuous situations out there.  The NY Giants as are well into their collapse!  However, I’d have to say I’d be wary of the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos this week.  Both are playing opponents that know them well.

Reminder that the over/under for this is 15 points for QB & RB, 10 for WR & DST and 5 for K & TE. Judge me on Tuesday.

Office Space Moment
After a 3-1 week, I managed to probably kill my playoff chances in 2 leagues with a 1-3 week. Team 1 won but is really not in the best position to make the playoffs unless some teams ahead falter. Team 2 is in and I need to ready them for the playoffs. Teams 3 and 4 are almost dead in the water.

Team 1 Roster of 10 team veteran league (5-6)
QB: E. Manning, Garcia, V. Young - Eli or bust!
RB: Barber, White, Gore, Jordan, K. Watson - Expecting big game from White against CIN and now that Brown is suspended!
WR: R. Williams, Welker – Need Welker to shine now that Holmes is hurt!
TE: D. Lee, Scheffler – Lee sucked this week!
K: Jeff Reed, Kris Brown – Reed is obvious but it’s supposed to rain!
DST: ARI NYG, TB - Cardinals are hot and face Dilfer!
(Picked up Cardinals and put Holmes on IR)

Team 2 Roster of 12 team PPR league (8-3)
QB: Schaub, V. Young - Shaub plays CLE!
RB: Bush, Parker, A. Hall - Bush is game-time decision!
WR: Wayne, R. Williams, Welker(flex), Coles, Evans – Need big game from Welker!
TE: Witten – Witten got his already
K: Josh Brown, Gostkowski – Brown is indoors!
DST: Arizona, Chicago – Cardinals are hot!
(Picked up Andre Hall, Cardinals Defense and dropped Jordan, Losman)

Team 3 Roster of 10 team, 3rd year league (3-8)
QB: Schaub, Brees – Had enough of Brees!
RB: Dayne, Parker, Gore, D. Williams, S. Young – Help me, I’m starting Dayne!
WR: A. Johnson, R. Williams, Welker, Branch – Roy E. Williams tanked already!
TE: D. Lee, V. Davis – Lee sucked this week already!
K: Kaeding – Only K
DST: San Diego - Only D!
(Picked up Dayne, Schaub and dropped Jordan, BAL)

Team 4 Roster of 10 team, 2nd year league (5-6)
QB: V. Young, McNabb – McNabb is out!
RB: A. Hall, Parker, Gore, D. Williams - Betting on Hall over Gore!
WR: Wayne, R. Williams, Stallworth(flex), S. Moss, Branch, Evans - Rolling the dice with Stallworth!
TE: LJ Smith – LJ is back!
K: Jeff Reed – Only K!
DST: San Diego,  – Only D!
(Picked up V. Young, Hall and dropped Holmes, BAL)

nfl_logo_helmet1.jpgThe slide continues this past week with a meager 6-8-2 performance.  6 weeks left in the season and I think I’ve finally figured out why I’m having a bad season. I’m an Underdog player. In most years the Underdogs win 55-60% of the time. This year it’s been the favorites that have been winning most games.  I did not realize that until after I entered my picks but maybe it’s something that I can use to improve my now awful 72-78-8 record.

I’m already 1-2 this week after the Thanksgiving favorites ruled.

Picks
PHL (-23) vs. NE - Honestly, this is a homer pick
HOU (+3.5) @ CLE - Browns win by FG
BUF (+7.5) @ JAX - Jags win by TD
NYG (-7) vs. MIN - Giants prevail by 2 TDs
CAR(+3) vs. NO - Home dog automatic pick
KC (-5.5) vs. OAK - Chiefs win by TD
TEN (-1) @ CIN - I’m done with CIN
SEA(-3) @ STL - Seahawks looking good!
WAS(+3) @ TB - Redskins always play well at Bucs
ARI(-10) vs. SF - 49ers are done!
CHI (-2.5) vs. DEN - Bears win by 3 at home
SD(-9.5) vs. BAL - Ravens have quit!
MIA (+16) @ PIT - Steelers win by 14!

Survivor After giving consecutive losers I gave 4 winners last week so I’m on a bit of a rebound.  This week the obvious are New England and Pittsburgh.  If you can only pick a team once per season and need to reach you could go with San Diego, Cleveland or Arizona.

Warning of the Week: I don’t have a good read on the upsets this week. I would say that you always have to be careful of the NY Giants as you never know when that 2nd half collapse can begin!!

Short note on today’s games: I’m taking DET (+3.5), DAL (-14.5) and ATL (+12).

TurkeyI sincerely hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving!  Ah, the sweet aroma of turkey from the oven, cranberry stuffing, pumpkin pie and fantasy football playoffs on the horizon!  Remember what this blog is about now.  Yes, the playoffs are just a few weeks away in most leagues and this is the stretch drive.  Thanksgiving is a marker of the holiday shopping season for most but it’s the key milestone of the fantasy football season as well.

Let’s look at what we have here today.  We really have 4 good offenses and 2 mediocre ones.  I think the short week is an advantage to offenses today.  I look for all teams to score in the 20s and some into the 30s or higher.  Therefore, if healthy, I would start everyone playing today.  That includes the likes of Kellen Clements, Thomas Jones, Ryan Grant, Donald Lee, Warrick Dunn, Calvin Johnson and Alge Crumpler that you might be hesitant with in any other week.

Well, I’m looking forward to 3 games of offense today and I hope that you have great Thanksgiving as well!!!
