Ask not why the blogger waits until 15 hours until game time to blog, but ask why the blogger is even blogging at all about a game where both participants were beaten by his beloved Eagles in the regular season. Yeah, the Eagles loss still burns deep and I had a hard time pulling myself together enough to make a prediction on a game I don’t want to watch. Well, maybe the game won’t be so bad, but the incessant throwback to Warner, throw deep to Fitzgerald highlights in all of the pre-game montages is painful to witness for the 60th time. I will say that I found it somewhat therapeutic to sit down at 1am last week and watch the tivoed NFL Network replay of the NFC championship. I think I gained closure if that’s possible. Anyways, there is a SuperBowl to write about.
How can any NFL educated fan pick against the Steelers in this situation. I’ll give you a few reasons…
1) Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald (gosh I wish this guy wasn’t so nice so I could hate him!)
2) Whisenhunt has the knowledge of what makes Roethlisberger tick tucked away on a pad somewhere
3) Warner is a winner! He finds ways.
4) Turnovers… The Cardinals are thriving on them in the postseason.
Here’s the difference maker to me….
F’ing reality man, F’ing reality! The Steelers D is too fast and too good to get beat like the Eagles D got beat. And I don’t care if ol’ Ken has the Steeler playbook in his pocket, I think Big Ben never runs the play like it’s drawn up anyways. Finally, really I like Fast Willie Parker to be the closer in this game.
Steelers 34 - Cardinals 19
Have a great offseason everyone! Next stop is the NFL combines in the near future!
