I’m headed to my draft tomorrow afternoon.  I just thought I’d throw out a quick reminder to everyone in the same situation to keep these things in mind as you go into your draft day.

1. Tomorrow is cut down day where most teams are releasing 20 or so players.  Every year there are some surprises.  Keep an eye on Cleveland.  I think Jamal Lewis is at risk.

2. Keep it simple.  Don’t bring too much to the draft.  Don’t be the guy with 3 magazines and a laptop.  Pick one source and go with it.  Else you run the risk of missing your pick or over-analyzing yourselg into picking up Kyle Orton for a good bye week.  Oh yes, I’ve been there, done that.

3. Be confident in your analysis.  If you want the guy, take the guy.  If you reach a bit, especially for a top WR, don’t worry.

4. Don’t over indulge.  It’s ok to drink to relax but it’s a little risky if you can’t read your notes.  Same goes for the food.   The stomach draws like 30% of the body’s blood when full.  Well, that might be an exagerration.   Sounded good though.

5. Have fun.  It’ll be the one time that you get everyone together until the end of the season.  Enjoy it.

6. If you don’t like your draft.  Don’t worry.  There’s still the waiver wire.
